I just returned home from a wonderful, campaign kickoff event. The gala evening was emceed by Senator George Maziarz with Dr. Kevin Hardwick as our keynote speaker. The senator spoke about the Republican party gaining a deserved voice in spite of the city's adversity and being vastly outnumbered. Dr. Hardwick spoke of years past when our city was vibrant with jobs and beauty. Both agreed that Niagara Falls will return to our glorious roots and the Republican party will lead that charge!
Currently, all 5 city council members as well as our mayor are Democrats. However, this November will see 3 of those seats open up. The Niagara Falls GOP is ready and will soon endorse 3 of it's own candidates to vie for those positions. Candra Thomason, Ted Janese and Vincent Sandonato were recently interviewed and recommended by the executive committee to challenge the Democrats.
I encourage all citizens to attend future fundraisers and political rallies. The best way for an average person to have an impact is to listen with both ears and then tell your friends. And, of course, get to the polls in November and vote Republican with pride!
