There has been a lot of talk about bailout packages and stimulus plans for over a year now. It all started last spring with the liberal-led stimulus checks... it was Nancy Pelosi's pet project. She claimed it would stimulate the economy. Everybody loved them; everybody had things they wanted to buy. My God, it sounded so wonderful. However, as always, I ask people to dig deeper... read between the lines so to speak. I will try to be brief, but thoroughness is important.
First off, you are the government. The government is nothing more than a group of people we elect to collect OUR money and redisperse it collectively as a more efficient way to spend. With that being said, it means any money you receive from the government is not a gift... it is not "found" money. It was your money to begin with. Now, in order to give you your money they need a resource to restock their coffers. Well, where does every single penny of government revenue come from? Yes, taxes! So in a nutshell: you are borrowing your own money! You are no better off.
Secondly, the plan is only a short-term fix; not a long-term cure. In order for an investment to spur growth it must have a financial return. Here's an example. If we spend x billion of dollars to build new roads that only employs people until the roads are complete. The worker has a job, but for now and for now only. Also, the new road does not produce income unless it's a toll road. Instead of artificially creating jobs for the here and now, wouldn't the money be better spent investing in new technology or factories to create jobs on their own? How about investing in renewable sources of energy so we can have cheaper and more efficient ways of heating our homes and driving to work? Remember, Obama said he was against some of those things last summer as taking too long. He wants the quick fix, but a quick fix only gives you the illusion that things are better. Without that return on investment we will need a newer and bigger stimulus plan every couple of years. In a nutshell: spending bills cost us money whereas an investment strategy will make us money.
Thirdly, the recovery plan (My God I almost vomit every time I say "recovery") does not tackle the reason we need help in the first place. Just because your house is on fire it doesn't mean you throw water aimlessly. Look for the source of that fire and correct that. If the fire started in the basement, throwing water on the roof only puts out that fire TEMPORARILY! The basement is still burning and will reignite the roof. Now you are no better off and you just wasted time and energy. Again, you were under the illusion that things were better. From what I've seen, this entire financial fiasco started with subprime lending. It was an indirect stimulus back then started by the Federal Reserve by reducing interest rates to stop a small recession. It was compounded by greedy banks and Wall Street investors and ended up causing a much larger recession today. We corrected that specific problem of lending, but the principle behind it (stimulus spending) is still around. So in a nutshell: this recovery package won't spur growth; it will only help correct what the last stimulus caused. Soon this stimulus will cause an even bigger recession. Eventually, we have to stop; take our lumps; and let the market correct itself... naturally.

ReplyDeleteDid you see that all of the streets being resurfaced with the exception of 77th and 56th Street are "minority" neighborhoods? Don't you think that those who pay the highest taxes and the worst streets should come first? WTF. I am pissed. What a joke.
Bababooey,
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY. I have always believed that tax dollars should benefit the taxpayers first and foremost. When I called Tom's show last week I made reference to the fact that before you put money in the Salvation Army bucket in front of Wal-Mart, you always make sure you have enough to pay for your own purchases first. It makes complete sense. We all do it and we are all Conservatives on a personal level. Even Restaino admitted to that once on the air. It's only natural to want to keep your own money. Many liberals, however, get greedy and selfish when facing the broader picture... they want to keep their own money, but simultaneously want you, the taxpayer, to forfeit your money. You know how Restaino always says giving is the "compassionate" thing to do... the "moral" thing? Well, it's because he has no job. Conservatism can't help him, whereas liberalism can benefit him greatly. He, like many liberals, only look out for themselves. It's real easy to forfeit your paycheck when you don't have one, lol! So yes, I agree that the taxpayers should benefit first.
David
Well said, I am impressed! That would totally make sense why John chooses to be a liberal...He might as well go on welfare too that blood sucker lol. I am a registered Dem but obviously I am part conservative...is there a name for that? LOL
ReplyDeleteHey, Tothill & Bababclown;
ReplyDeleteWhere do you work??? Both of you guys have the airways ...come on!! But you won't because you will both sit there and cry and whine like little beaten down neo-cons. BTW, I am constatnly working on my show ..getting guests and meeting with advertisers and potential advertisers. I am sorry that both of you are jealous. Neither of you WILL ever have a voice. Try to get on the air it won't work. There is too many of your kind boring people all over the country. So go back to your SAD SORRY ASS excuse of a job and wish you could do what I do. I have a paycheck and guess what I LOVE the work I do. You on the other had are just frustrated clowns that wish your opinion mattered.
I am also going to tell the both of you I find it pretty COWARDLY that (especially Bobababooey) you try and take shots at me about my personal life...which you have no idea about. If you want to speak about ideologies or policies fine. But to try and talk about ME with out revealing yourself is cowardly!!
ReplyDeleteJohn,
ReplyDeleteListen up. Time after time I have enumerated point by point my views with actual numbers and facts. All my posts are thorough and ACCURATE. You call all Conservatives radicals, anti-American, etc etc; you call Limbaugh and Bauerle morons; you call my ideas ridiculous and me a neo-con (you still don't know what that means). And as I said before, your posts and replies are a clusterf__k of insinuations, assumptions, generalizations, illogical deductions, and lies. Whenever I asked you anything you would change the subject. If I pointed something out you would switcn names and call me that. If I called TRex something you would say I shouldn't do that, but you never admonished him for his continuous name-calling. (That's being two-faced).
Oh, so you know... I don't work because I'm a coward (and I still don't see the connection); I work because I've grown quite fond of food and shelter.
Oh, why doesn't TRex reveal his name? Maybe his income taxes he paid? Maybe your taxes? Me and Bababooey both revealed ours. And here's a revelation: we're not jealous of you.
And we take shots at your personal life because YOU made it an issue. You said we aren't moral... not compassionate. You feel we don't give enough to charity. YOU made personal life an issue John Restaino.
One last point... since you think work is the cowardly thing to do, I have a solution we can both agree upon. You come to my work tomorrow at 10am. I will be at 2202 Hyde Park Blvd. If you're not there at 10am I will know you are balking and a coward. And I will call you out to your listeners and your advertisers. Got it?
BTW, You and your little buddy are the ones that started trying to say I didn't work and about my wife. I at no time spoke about anything that had to do with your life. 2202 Hyde Park...nice ....Go to my advertisers...I wish you would..they will laugh you out there door. Also, keep the threats coming about my advertisers that's fine. 2202 Hyde Park hmm...I have so many listeners alot more then you. So this is my last post to your garbage site. You have an open invitation to come on the air when ever you want...Since you are a coward YOU won't...So, enjoy your work day. You being at the HUB of work in Niagara Falls. Do you have Skittles???
ReplyDeleteJohn:
ReplyDeleteWe will not stop posting on your site and reacting to your radical liberal views. Understand that we the listeners are much more powerful than you (the host). We have the power to dismantle your website and your show. Just be careful what you wish for John. We have every right to continue posting and you have no right to stop us. This is a free world and we are entitled just like your welfare recipients that you love so much. Keep up the funny stuff and we will double team you every time (oh maybe triple team you with our new latest hater of your show "notfooled"). Good luck John!!!!
Very Nice Site David, Im impressed!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! I think it's cool with the stock ticker, weather, countdown, etc.
ReplyDeleteJohn is such a little p**sy. I cannot stand him. He has now only allowed the posts that "favor him" and he will only post those. His little cry baby followers didn't like the truth so on this site they can seek the truth. John, grow up you weasel.
ReplyDeleteYou know John checks out your site David every day cause he is worried his liberal character will be tarnished. I am starting an official boycott of his show. I will try to get many people to call in and tear him a new ***hole. We will play hardball now.
ReplyDeleteI heard that 800 pound gorilla today and an old man. They both sounded conservative. The old guy kept grilling Robin Hood (John) on why we should give to the poor. John ummed and awwed several times. He sounded like his world was collapsing, lol. Then he cries, "Why does everybody pick on the poor people." Don't worry Babaclown, I plan on calling Thursday. I will grill him left and right.
ReplyDeleteThe 800 pound gorilla is a retired disabled cop named steve baum. he has serious severe mental issues. i cannot stand when he calls in cause he rambles on and on. he thinks he knows everything. the old man is "al" he is great, cause he lays into "robin hood" aka john restaino and john again umms, and uhhhs, without knowing anything to say. again, john is a total douche bag. David, grill him to no end, prepare notes and rip him to shreds and demand a response, and when he tries to cut you off notify the listeners that john doesn't know what he is doing! Get him Get him good, i will be listening for ya!
ReplyDeleteI RESPONDED TO VINCES COMMENTS ON JOHNS PAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
ReplyDeleteWE WILL SEE IF JOHN POSTS IT, I WROTE:
Good response David. Vince is a coward and he does not provide validity in his statements....just spontaneous uttering brain farts. It is only fair that he come to your blog page and prepare a battle debate. I will be there to judge the debate. So far David is up 1-0 with a good response to Vince's post. By the way John I don't want a radio show, I don't have time to him and haw about pointless issues and have elderly losers like steve baum call in on the show. John why are you continuing to name call? Where is your balls and your maturity? I must be hitting a sore spot with you over and over again when I lay out the facts on the table. Its quite clear to me that you cannot have an intelligent debate without crying and name calling. If you want us to continue to attack in force we will-If you cease acting like a two year old and name calling, maybe we will start treating you with respect. Thats all we are asking for is a little bit of respect with regard to our conservative views. You respect us, we respect you. If you learned anything in the job force, you would learn how to treat your colleagues.
Only troube is.......John wouldn't know anything about the work force. He has no meaning to his life, he has no job, he has no balls. His show blows and his followers are elderly pukes with puckered mouths and cigarrette raspy voices. steve baum has severe mental issues and Al and Kathy are the only two I like to hear cause they chew John a new a**hole every time ! LMFAO
ReplyDeleteJohn is resorting to name calling again after I commanded him to stop. I will have to waltz into his radio studio and smack him silly soon lol! just kidding (i dont want him getting scared now)
David:
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me a little bit about Nancy Pelosi? She makes me want to gag with all her plastic surgery. She is a total nut job. I cant stand her, I'd like to ring her by the throat lol. Are you watching this Presidential Address to Congress? She stands up every two seconds and claps like her life depends on it! UGHHHH
David,
ReplyDeleteIs anyone working to build a conservative or GOP parties in Niagara Falls? The town is ripe for change – someone should run for school board.
I was next door at a friend's house. I tuned in when I got home (just as you were writing this). Her standing o's seemed rehearsed. She would start to stand before Barack hit his high points. She looked like Gidget on speed.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I saw, Barack has good ideas about the ends he'd like to achieve, but is clueless to the means. Case in point: he wants to make education available to everyone, but then says we have a huge dropout rate. Well, that says to me that education IS available, but no one is forcing the kids to stay in school. You see, in America we have rights. Whenever we put stipulations on people it is viewed as violating their rights. It's in part because we don't want to appear racist; we don't to take on the teacher's unions and because we (Americans) are generally lazy. Hiring more teachers will only cost us more money. There is no correlation between the number of teachers and the number of kids dropping out. Remember what I said the other day regarding stimulus? I talked about your house being on fire. We need to find the root of the problem... the origin of the fire. Then we must say, "fuck your rights"; demand performance from teachers; and eliminate any and all publicly assisted programs (i.e.-welfare) to anyone who drops out. Oh, sidepoint... Barack suggested bonuses for good teachers. That's bullshit. You don't go to your boss and say you will work hard today if and only if he slips you a little extra. You're already being paid to do your best.
Hi Barney,
ReplyDeleteI would love to run for a public office. I'm the Mike Ditka of politics. I lay it on the line... no sugar-coating.
May I ask how you found my website? Tell me about yourself. Oh, and please be sure to vote on the homepage.
Thank you, David
From your profile.
ReplyDeleteat this time, I think you are too angry to be a viable candidate – stick to talk show or blog.
Barney,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your opinion.
David
Barney, grow a pair of f'n balls. Stop sugar coating the world. You and Edwina would make a great couple.
ReplyDeleteLets see some new material David LOL.
ReplyDeleteDavid, When are you coming on the show??? I know you can so what is the hold up??
ReplyDeleteJohn- I will when I can.
ReplyDeleteBababooey- I've been having PC problems. I will when things are cleared up.

ReplyDeletehey whats up david? anything new and exciting with you? i havent seen any new updates on this site? are you thinking about any new articles or new ideas?
ReplyDeletei told marsha you said hello, she said hi.
Oh, David, I have to say, I'm a little disappointed. I'm going to try to be respectful in my response to your post, but I can't promise that I won't get a little smartass on you, but that's a genetic condition and can't be helped. (you've met me, so you should know)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you're somewhat right about the "stimulus checks". I tried telling people back before the 2004 Presidential election that the "tax rebate" George W. Bush was offering was nothing more than an advance on their next year's tax refund disguised as a bribe for their vote, but too many people bought into the "I got mine" mentality to listen to reason. There were plenty of warning signs back then about what was going to happen, but the Bush administration wasn't concerned with preventing the upcoming tidal wave of trouble then because the only thing they cared about was getting re-elected and staying in power.
Second, please save that old trope about how people who have the most actually pay the most into our tax system and, therefore, should get the most out of it. That was debunked ages ago, and I would expect better from you than to use this forum to repeat talking points that make no sense when faced with the evidence.
Anyone who makes a good buck and has made it did it by making use of the infrastructure that we all pay into, except under the mostly Republican leadership over the past 30 years that we have all paid into the system while neglectic necessary infrasctuctre, and the "right" have tried to use their intentional neglect as an excuse to say "See how when you leave things in the hands of government they end up screwed up?"
To: Not_Over_It
ReplyDelete1- With all due respect, you said I know you and I will understand you being a touch of a smartass, but you have never identified yourself to me.
2- Yes, President Bush did support the first stimulus bill, but it was in 2008 and not 2004. And since he was approaching the end of his second term and hence ineligible for re-election, it was obviously not for political gain. Furthermore, the "stimulus" bill was Nancy Pelosi's and her Democrat cohort's idea.
3- The people with the most do pay the most. The top 1% wage earners pay about 40% of all income taxes collected by our governments. When you figure in the top 10% wage earners, that number balloons to 70%! Half of the country pays 30% and a staggering 40% either pay no income tax or receive a refund larger than what they did pay. These are actual numbers and hence real evidence. Therefore, what you said is not evidence; rather just a baseless comment to deflect blame. Furthermore, who "debunked" this notion? I, for one, did not. What you just said is called a sweeping generalization. Again, with no proof it's baseless. Lastly, since almost a third of all taxpayers did not pay into the system, then it is a complete falsehood to say they paid into our infrastructure system.
Thank you, David
